My soon-to-be-ex-husband has supervised visitation every Saturday from 9a-3p and there are two supervisors which alternate.
The first week the kids were going with him to one supervisor’s house (about 70 miles away) and he showed up to get the kids without car seats. I let him borrow mine.
The second week I met him at the other supervisor’s house. He didn’t have car seats, so they didn’t go anywhere.
This weekend the kids will go 70 miles again and he called saying he doesn’t have (and cannot afford) car seats. He has NEVER paid child support and he lives with his brother for free and doesn’t pay for anything (I pay all our joint bills to keep things from being shut off) so I don’t know how he can work full time and have no money. He wants to borrow my car seats again.
I’ve been trying to find an Arizona law or something that clarifies whether he needs to provide his own car seats, or if I have to let him use mine. I’m truly afraid that he will decide not to return them. He has already started taking things from me saying they were bought with "his" money.
Can I just deny the car seats and tell him to go buy some before he can take the kids???
Also our oldest is 5, but she still sits in a booster seat. Can I not let her go with him without a car seat or do I have to let her go because state law says she doesn’t have to have one?
I’m divorcing him because he cheated on me ove rand over again. And the final straw was when he pointed a gun at me because I told him I wanted a divorce. So don’t tell me I’m not an adult. I have been trying to raise three children and a god-damned monkey of a husband for 6 years and I finally gave up on him every changing. Just answer the question and don’t judge me for doing the best thing I could for my kids.
Didn’t you wonder why the visitation was SUPERVISED?!?!?! That was a court order.
The supervisor comes with him to pick up the kids.

Can someone help me unravel this mystery? From what I understand I need to buy three car seats as my daughter grows up, an infant seat, 2nd stage seat, then a booster seat. Is that right? Or could I have just bought the convertible seat in the first place? I already have the infant seat and my daughter has outgrown it, so now I’m ready for the next one which I believe is the convertible. And how does this one work as far as bases go, do you buy an extra base so you can switch from car to car or does the convertible not work that way? Do you take your kid out of the convertible seat every time or do you take the seat out and carry your kid in it like you do the infant seat?
So confused??!! Thanks so much for any advice!!
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR, THANK YOU ALL!!

He currently has the booster with no back , I hate it.. He unbuckles his seatbelt and tries to stand in the car. So im changing seats like today so he can get strapped down by the car seats seat belt also. But what kind would be safe and appropriate for a big 2 yr old

My son will be 2 next month. He is currently in a convertible car seat, but we’re expecting #2 come November. My son was into his convertible car seat by 5 months old because he outgrew the infant carrier (we couldn’t get him buckled in – he’s tall). So, I was thinking about getting a booster seat for when he’s 2.5 years old (so our new son will be about 5-6 months then and likely into the convertible car seat), but it’s my understanding now that he shouldn’t be in a booster until he’s 4 years old. Is this true?
And, if so, I would like to buy a bigger convertible car seat for him then that would last much longer. Can you suggest something? I’m at a loss.
What car seats do you have?
Thanks!
We currently have this convertible car seat: http://www.evenflo.com/product.aspx?id=148&pfid=2760 – Evenflo Triumph Advance LX.

I’m taking my 2 1/2 yr old on a theme park trip with my school (I’m a high school teacher). Just wondering what I should do regarding seat belts/car seats. She’s still in a car seat in my car with the 2 over shoulder straps. This will be big and bulky to get on the baus and not sure how secure it will fit as not sure what sort of seatbelts they have.
Should I take my proper car seat and hope it fits, or should I borrow a booster seat and use the seat belt, even though they are for over 4 yr olds really?
What do you suggest?

We are expecting baby in March and there is no way I can fit 3 car seats in my mazda 6. I was able to do 2 boosters and an infant seat but it was very very tight and I didnt feel good about the security. We will need to fit a newborn, 18month old and a 5 year old in the car. So a booster seat, toddler front facing seat and a infant car seat. Is there a car that will fit these in one row comfortably or do we need to get something with a third row? And if so what would be a good choice. I do not want a minivan or anything big like that.

Yet school buses for pre-school and up doesn’t require car seats for the students that still require them in their parents vehicle by law?
It just seems strange that kids up to age 10 or 11 sometimes still need booster seats, yet for public transportation, you don’t need a seat belt or car seat. Even infants on public buses. Why not?
