My soon-to-be-ex-husband has supervised visitation every Saturday from 9a-3p and there are two supervisors which alternate.
The first week the kids were going with him to one supervisor’s house (about 70 miles away) and he showed up to get the kids without car seats. I let him borrow mine.
The second week I met him at the other supervisor’s house. He didn’t have car seats, so they didn’t go anywhere.
This weekend the kids will go 70 miles again and he called saying he doesn’t have (and cannot afford) car seats. He has NEVER paid child support and he lives with his brother for free and doesn’t pay for anything (I pay all our joint bills to keep things from being shut off) so I don’t know how he can work full time and have no money. He wants to borrow my car seats again.
I’ve been trying to find an Arizona law or something that clarifies whether he needs to provide his own car seats, or if I have to let him use mine. I’m truly afraid that he will decide not to return them. He has already started taking things from me saying they were bought with "his" money.
Can I just deny the car seats and tell him to go buy some before he can take the kids???
Also our oldest is 5, but she still sits in a booster seat. Can I not let her go with him without a car seat or do I have to let her go because state law says she doesn’t have to have one?
I’m divorcing him because he cheated on me ove rand over again. And the final straw was when he pointed a gun at me because I told him I wanted a divorce. So don’t tell me I’m not an adult. I have been trying to raise three children and a god-damned monkey of a husband for 6 years and I finally gave up on him every changing. Just answer the question and don’t judge me for doing the best thing I could for my kids.
Didn’t you wonder why the visitation was SUPERVISED?!?!?! That was a court order.
The supervisor comes with him to pick up the kids.

I own a ford tarus and a ford windstar(mini van) I have a 2 year old a 3 year old and an infant (I’m thinking of buying a car seat for her so she can have it when she turns 1). I need to know what seats they all require and which ones will fit in my cars properly. I was going to buy them online but I thought I should ask around first. I opt to get a convertable for my infant and 2 graco booster seats with a 5 point harness that turn into belt positioning seats after 40 pounds, for my 2 and 3 year olds. Let me know if these options would be suitable Thanks in advance for all of your answers.

My son is 4 years old and small for his age (about 34 lbs), and he’s always been in a car seat with a five point harness. We have a Britax Marathon and Sunshine Kids Radian. Both seats are solid and heavy with the latch system to attach them to my car. He recently has been complaining that the strap between his legs in the Britax hurts his "wee wee". I’ve tried loosening the straps a bit, but he still complains. I know he’s at the age where the booster seat is an option, but I’m hesitant to allow him to ride in one for safety reasons. I’m afraid the seatbelt won’t sit properly against his waist, cut into his neck, and allow his head to slump when he falls asleep (which he does often on car rides). Are there any seats that have a more suitable five point harness that will fit an older child, or any very safe booster seats that you can recommend? I was hoping they still make booster seats with the latch system to hold the seat in place so it doesn’t slide around in the car when not in use.

I am traveling to Florida on Thursday with my 5 year old daughters, and here in our state my daughters are still required to sit in a car seat, but in Florida, according to the law they don’t need one. We are only going to be in a car from the airport to our resort, and then again from the resort to the airport. When you bring the booster seats, or don’t worry about them??
I just can’t decide if I should, and have to bother carrying them both around the airport, or just skip them.
That is where I am kind of torn too, as I still think they are a little too young to not be in the booster, but then I am like it is just to the hotel. But then anything can happen during that time. But then I don’t want to carry them around, plus everything else, and keep an eye on m girls. UGH.

My son will be 2 next month. He is currently in a convertible car seat, but we’re expecting #2 come November. My son was into his convertible car seat by 5 months old because he outgrew the infant carrier (we couldn’t get him buckled in – he’s tall). So, I was thinking about getting a booster seat for when he’s 2.5 years old (so our new son will be about 5-6 months then and likely into the convertible car seat), but it’s my understanding now that he shouldn’t be in a booster until he’s 4 years old. Is this true?
And, if so, I would like to buy a bigger convertible car seat for him then that would last much longer. Can you suggest something? I’m at a loss.
What car seats do you have?
Thanks!
We currently have this convertible car seat: http://www.evenflo.com/product.aspx?id=148&pfid=2760 – Evenflo Triumph Advance LX.

Hi,
Thanks to this awkward law brought out by our lovely gouvernment I am having a car seat dilemma. We have a 6 yr old, a 1 yr old and a newborn. This means we have a booster seat, newborn carrier and a toddler seat. These will not fit in the back of our car no matter how hard we squeeze them together or shift them about, making going out as a family of 5 impossible.
So I was wondering… Will the law allow me to sit between the 2 baby seats in the back with my 6 yr old and his booster seat in the front and my husband driving?
Thanks xx

My son is out growing his car seat and I really don’t want to buy another one if I don’t have too. He will be 3 years old in July and weighs 42 pounds and is 38 1/2 inches tall. He will fit in his car seat for a little longer. I have found a booster seat that is highback with no harness. What are the requirements for him being in a seat like that?

I am ready to purchase the next car seat for my daughter, she is almost 3, 37 1/2inches tall, and weighs 35 pounds.
I am a bit confused at what the differences would be between the different boosters. I know that Graco is a good brand, and they have one for only , but then others are as much as 0. Can anyone tell me which ones are better, or even give me a link to a site that rates them? Thank you very much for your help.
